Apex Photo Studios served as the primary production vendor for HeyGen during Peter Diamandis’s prestigious Abundance 360 (A360) summit, held at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
The objective was ambitious: transform a standard conference room/ballroom at the resort into a high-fidelity green screen studio to capture the video and voice likenesses of over 60 high-profile executives in under 72 hours.
This operation required precision, speed, and advanced digital avatar capturing capabilities to support HeyGen's AI video generation platform.
A Long-Standing Partnership
Our execution at A360 was the culmination of a year-long collaboration. Prior to this event, Apex Photo Studios operated as a key production hub for HeyGen. We utilized our diverse studio sets to film many of the stock avatars currently available on their platform.
By transforming our stages into doctor's offices, executive suites, fitness studios, and psychologist’s offices, we helped create the visual variety necessary for a robust AI platform. Below are examples of the sets created at Apex Photo Studios for these avatar captures:

Logistics: The Proto Hologram & Ballroom Transformation
The Abundance 360 deployment went beyond standard video capture. HeyGen utilized the Proto Hologram box to display interactive AI avatars on the event floor.
Although our primary mission was the green screen studio, our team jumped in to lend a helping hand when the Proto unit arrived before their team. We assisted in unloading the massive hologram box to ensure everything stayed on schedule—just another day in production.

Simultaneously, we executed a complete transformation of a resort ballroom into a professional capture stage. This included a custom green screen cyclorama build, dual-camera broadcast setup, and teleprompters.
The Execution: Video and Voice Capture
With equipment in place, the challenge shifted to human logistics. We coordinated with over 60 executives, slotting them into tight windows between their conference sessions. Among the notables we captured was Wayne Liang, Chief Innovation Officer and Co-founder of HeyGen.
Our on-site production services included:
- Video & Voice Capture: Creating a digital twin requires more than just an image; it requires the voice. We employed high-fidelity audio capture techniques alongside our video feed to ensure the AI models could accurately clone the executives' voices.
- Performance Coaching: Directing executives on cadence, eye contact, and energy to create authoritative and natural digital twins.
- Talent Prep: A professional on-site Makeup Artist (MUA) to ensure camera-readiness.
- Documentation: Capturing b-roll of the event floor, networking, and the Abundance 360 atmosphere.
The Keynote Reveal: A Multilingual Demo
One of the highlights of the summit was the main stage Keynote. Leveraging the high-quality data Apex captured on-site, HeyGen was able to create a rapid-turnaround demo video.
The video featured several of the CEOs we had just filmed, but with a twist: through the power of the HeyGen platform, they delivered messages in a variety of different languages. While Apex did not produce the final keynote video, the pristine data we captured was the foundation that allowed HeyGen to demonstrate their powerful multilingual AI capabilities.
