How to book a studio?

Click on any “Book It!” button or just fill out the booking form on the side of the studio page you like. Click Here to see an article explaining the process and it includes a video showing the process.

How do I make payment?
During the booking process, you will be asked to provide debit/credit card information. This does not automatically process the booking fee. Once we receive the booking we will send you an invoice via Quickbooks. You can then review it, and make the payment by clicking the “Pay Now”. If the Invoice hasn’t been paid by you a few days after we have sent it, we will use the card information you have provided during the booking process and process the payment for the booking.
Can I cancel out on a previous booking?

Yes, however, you must do this via an email request 48 hrs prior to your booking start date in order to receive a refund. A processing fee may apply.

Can you assist my production?

Yes, we have full production capabilities both for photography and video needs as well as editing. Please contact us with a detailed description regarding the full needs of your production in order to receive pricing options.

I’m based outside Los Angeles – can I use your service?

Our studios have been chosen for photography, videography and a variety of other uses by companies from North America,South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.

What is the cost of filming in one of your private studios?

We do not have a price list for our spaces listed on our website studio pages as this can vary greatly
depending upon the space and the production’s requirements – the fee is agreed between
the production and our Apex team member directly.

Can I book a Studio, Rooftop, or The Loft through you?
I don’t see the rental rates for the Rooftop or The Loft, how can I book them?
Please call us directly in order to discuss your production, availability, and rates regarding Rooftop A, Rooftop B or The Loft.
What Insurance do I need?

We require a minimum of $1 Million Dollars production insurance for all major productions.

Can we use firearms while filming?

No use of real firearms is permitted on our premises. The use of replica firearms is prohibited without prior agreement between the production and the police (where it will be officially logged) and/or appropriate emergency service. Please note: · It is the responsibility of the production/production company to ensure the safe custody of firearms at all times. A licensed armorer must be present during film shoots involving firearms.

How do I find local accommodation for crew?

We can provide you with a list of nearby hotels located in Downtown Los Angeles.

What do I need to do if I plan to use child actors?

A performance licence is required for all children aged between birth and 16.

Is there freight elevator access?
Yes. The freight elevator can only be used in the morning from 6am to 8am, and again in the afternoon from 6:30pm onward.
We can accommodate for the restriction by offering 30 minutes to an hour as a courtesy in the morning or afternoon.
Where can I park a large production vehicle such as a cube truck, grip truck, u haul, van, or a trailer?
There are a few options for larger production vehicles that need to be parked in Downtown.
  • Obtain a permit from the City of LA or Film La which allows you to park on the street.
  • Park in a parking spot with a meter, and replenish it until the two hours expire, after which you must move your vehicle to a new meter.
  • Contact nearby parking companies in charge of close by lots, and request a quote.
What are your rules and regulations regarding Drone usage indoors and on the rooftop?
We abide by all drone guidelines mandated by the FAA. In addition, Apex needs to have a prior notice if the usage of drones will be needed for any production.

Do you allow animals in your studios?
We here at Apex are very pet-friendly. Dogs and Cats are allowed on set only after a notice has been given by the client and approved by an Apex studio manager. Pets must be kept on leashes during the entire time they are here and remain in the studio at all times.
Any other pets besides dogs or cats must be approved by written notice from one of our studio staff.
