Rooftop A is a 7,500 sq ft outdoor production rooftop located above the 8th floor of our Santee Street building in Downtown Los Angeles. As one of the only rooftops in the city offering a full-size movable cyclorama wall paired with 360° unobstructed skyline views, this space is ideal for high-end fashion campaigns, editorial shoots, lifestyle content, commercials, and music videos. The open layout, panoramic backdrop, and unique rooftop cyc make it a standout location for productions seeking an iconic LA look.

Booking notes

Minimum 2-hour booking. Cyclorama wall is an optional add-on at $105 for the booking duration.

Proof of liability insurance is required and due 72 hours before call time ($1M / $3M aggregate, naming Apex Photo Studios, LLC as additional insured). Open-air bookings are weather-dependent.

Is Rooftop A accessible by elevator?
No, Rooftop A is not accessible by elevator. The elevator stops on the 8th floor. From there you can access the rooftop by walking up 2 flights of stairs.
Does Rooftop A come with an interior space?
No, Rooftop A does not come with an interior space. The closest studios to the stairwell on the 8th floor are Studio A and Studio B. If you have a crew of more than 15 people or would just like more space we would suggest Studio E on the 7th floor. Studio E is closest to the stairwell and elevator that can take you to the 8th floor (elevator does not go to the rooftop).
Does Rooftop A have natural light?
Yes. Rooftop A is a fully open-air rooftop with 360-degree skyline views and light all day, especially strong during golden hour.
Is there a cyclorama wall on Rooftop A?
Yes, as an optional add-on. A 10′ × 12′ × 10′ cyclorama wall can be added to your booking for $105.
How large is Rooftop A, and how many people can it hold?
Rooftop A is 7,500 sq ft and accommodates up to 20 guests comfortably.
Can I rent lighting or other equipment?
